Workers Compensation Lawyer Lyle Masnikoff answers:
Are all workplace injuries covered by workers’ compensation in Florida?
Generally, any injury incurred on the job is covered by workers compensation. However, one must be in the process of completing his work when he was injured. Specifically, he needs to be in the course and scope of his employment, meaning that his injuries happened because he were doing the job or he were in the process of doing the job when he got injured. An injury while on a lunch break, for instance, may not be considered in the scope of employment, as one was not in the process of doing the job the employer paid one to do.
