Florida Workers’ Comp Lawyer: How to Switch Attorneys the Right Way
October 9, 2025 –
Summary
This video explains the process of switching workers’ compensation attorneys. Clients often seek new representation because they are unhappy with a lack of communication, such as unreturned calls or poor explanations, or because they feel unprepared for depositions or mediations. When evaluating these cases, the firm reviews court records to advise the client on their case status; if the current attorney is performing well, the firm may recommend that the client stick with them. However, if a switch is necessary, the process is described as very easy, involving a letter to the previous attorney and a formal substitution with the court. The firm emphasises quick callbacks, access to four attorneys, and multilingual support in Spanish and Creole.
FAQs
Q: Why do potential clients call the firm when they already have a workers’ compensation attorney?
A: Clients often call because they are unhappy, unable to get a return phone call, cannot get a good explanation or answer to a question, or feel unprepared for a deposition or mediation where things did not go well.
Q: What does the firm do when reviewing a potential client’s existing case?
A: The firm will review the case, check the court website to see what is happening, and explain what has been done so far and what remains to be done.
Q: Does the firm always recommend switching attorneys?
A: No. Sometimes they tell clients to stick with their attorneys if there is nothing they would do differently, as they would hate for clients to switch for no reason.
Q: What is the process for switching attorneys?
A: It is very easy: the firm sends a letter to the prior attorney advising them of the change and files a substitution with the court to notify the court that the client has a new attorney.
Q: What kind of communication and language support does the firm provide?
A: The firm’s motto is to call clients back promptly, and it has four attorneys available to speak with them. Additionally, for those who speak different languages, staff speak Spanish or Creole, or they can find an interpreter to ensure the client understands everything.
