Ignored by Your Lawyer? How to Switch to an FL Workers’ Compensation Lawyer Who Goes the Extra Mile

I get calls every day from people who already have attorneys representing them for the workers’ comp case, but they’re calling to see if I’m willing to take over their case. And sometimes, I take a look at the case on the computer—with what’s been filed with the judge in the court—and see what’s been going on; and if the attorney has been doing the same thing I would do, or is doing a good job, then usually I try to have the people stay with their current attorneys. However, if the person that’s calling is just adamant that they’re going to switch attorneys—because maybe they can’t get ahold of the attorney, or the attorney doesn’t give them an answer or doesn’t respond to emails—then sometimes I will take over a case that is already… somebody’s already been represented by another attorney. It’s very easy to do: we just send a letter letting the other attorney know that we’re going to take over, we do a substitution of counsel with the court, and then the court notifies us that we are now the attorney of record. So, if you’re unhappy with your current attorney, give us a call; we’ll take a look at your case, we’ll see what’s going on, and then we’ll decide whether or not we think that we can help you and take over the cases, which is not that big a deal.
