The clients call every day to ask, “Why is the insurance company taking my deposition? What are they allowed to ask me, and why do I have to give a deposition?” So, the first thing is that almost every employer or insurance company will hire an attorney, and they will set the—our clients’—deposition, mainly just to get some general information. So, where have they gone to school in the past? What kind of jobs have they had? What kind of accidents or medical treatment have they had in the past? So, mainly, it’s just to get some general information, and they already know most of the answers to the questions; so, what they’re really trying to do is see if the person is going to tell the truth. And so, we make sure that our clients—we prepare them for the deposition, we give them, go over some of the questions, remind them about some of the prior accidents or medical treatment they’ve had in the past—so they don’t make mistakes during the deposition, and hopefully the deposition is short, sweet, and has really no impact on your case; but there’s not really nothing to be worried about, especially if you tell the truth. If you’ve had other accidents in the past, it’s okay, you just tell them; what will you remember—you don’t—if you don’t remember something, it’s okay to tell them you don’t remember. So, we prepare our clients for depositions; we don’t want them to panic about or get nervous about it, and we make sure that they’re ready to give the deposition that almost every person will have to do.
