View Social Security Statements Online

June 19, 2012 – Lyle B. Masnikoff

Social Security is now allowing you to create an account with them so that you may view your online Social Security Statement. Viewing your statement allows you to see an estimate of your disability amounts, total retirement amounts, and any benefits your family maybe eligible for if you pass away or begin receiving Social Security benefits. Your statement will also advise you if you received enough credits to qualify for disability benefits. You may go to SSA.gov and look for the link ‘Get Your Online Social Security Statement”.
Social Security is also allowing you to print a printable version of your statement to keep for your records. Reviewing your statement yearly allows you to check for accuracy with your earnings you made each year, and also allows you to check information like your date of birth which Social Security has on record. It is also a valuable tool when planning retirement.
